No, but they did fire their bench coach, pitching coach,and released their performance coach.
Wakamatsu along with all of his initial coaches were fired, including Rick Adair. I believe the third & first base coaches were allowed to stay since they were not a part of Wakamatsu’s original campaign.
No, they got a reprieve for now, but the GM should’ve been the one to be canned. He traded away their best players, as usual. Imagine giving up Cliff Lee? What a bone-head move! That wasn’t the managerial staff’s call. Pathetic. The only issue I’d have is using Ichiro has solely a leadoff hitter. It’s obvious that the Mariners stink at the plate and Ichiro is the most productive. I’d bat him at least 3rd to see if he could possibly slap in a run or two with those cheap singles he always gets.
